How to get your business recommended by ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI
AI assistants recommend businesses they can find, read and trust. That means letting AI crawlers in, describing your services clearly with prices and locations, adding structured data, and making sure Bing and Google have indexed every page.
The checklist
- Let AI crawlers in. Check your robots.txt doesn't block GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot or Google-Extended.
- One clear page per service. What it is, who it's for, the starting price, and FAQs in plain English. AI tools quote pages that answer questions directly.
- Structured data. Add schema.org markup for your business (name, address, phone, area served), your services and your FAQs.
- An llms.txt file. A short Markdown summary of your business and links to your key pages at /llms.txt.
- Get indexed in Bing as well as Google. Submit your sitemap to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, and use IndexNow to tell Bing when pages change.
- A complete Google Business Profile. Categories, services, photos and reviews feed Google's local and AI results.
- Consistent details everywhere. The same name, address and phone on your site, Google, directories and LinkedIn.
